Painted Bath Cabinets

Over the weekend I finished a project I have wanted to tackle since Summer.  I painted my bathroom cabinets!  I have never liked that the bathroom cabinets and the kitchen cabinets looked the same.  Originally when we planned this house the builder was going to paint the kitchen cabinets white, but once they were installed we loved them dark so we left them as is but that left me wanting a change for the bathroom cabinets.
I bought the paint for this project in the Summer and it’s been waiting on me.  I also purchased new bath mats and towels in the Fall to spruce up the bathroom but still hesitated on painting.  Now I can check it off the list!
Credenza Cabinets
It makes the bathroom look so much brighter!  Just what I needed on these long cold days of Winter.
Here is the before.

Painted Bath Cabinets
This was an easy paint job as I used chalk paint so there was no prep work to be done.  I also cheated and didn't paint the backs of the doors.  It took most of the day Saturday to get it done but by that night we had the doors and hardware back on so it didn’t disrupt the use of the bathroom.
Upclose Cabinets
Here is a close up of the rugs I bought at Target back in the Fall from the Threshold line.  I love these rugs!
New Rugs
They are neutral but add just a little color with the orange and it ties in well with our bedroom.  These are not pictured with the cabinets, they sit in front of the tub and toilet.  I have white towels and matching orange hand towels.
I also have a bathroom shelf in this room that went through a before and after some time ago.  This was a $7 estate sale find!

I knew this was perfect for the bathroom.  Here is the before.

I am in love with the new look for the bathroom, what do you think?

Neighborhood Development Update

Happy Weekend!  I have been traveling for work this week and it always feels good to have some time at home after work travel.
Just wanted to give you guys an update on our development for those of you following along.  2014 brought much success with selling lots to builders and they have been very fortunate to sell homes quickly as well.  The neighborhood is filling up quick and it is so nice to see our vision come true.
New Sold Home
Recently Sold
Towards the end of 2014 up to now we have sold 4 more lots and have 4 more under contract.  On the sold lots the builders have already started construction and if the rain holds off it won’t be long before these homes are ready for Spring buyers.
New Home Build
New build 2
Under Construction
There is one completed home in the neighborhood for sale and one almost complete.  There are 3 in the beginning stages of construction.
New Blue House
For Sale
We are very blessed that things are moving at a quicker pace.  We started with 43 lots and have 14 more available for sale.  The 14 left are in the back part of the neighborhood and they are beautiful lots with more wooded areas.
We are hoping for the continued success in 2015!

New Year–January Recap

Hey Guys!  I know I was totally absent in January!  I know I say it all the time, we’ve been busy…that’s life huh!  Well we have been busy this new year but I have been resting quite a bit and taking a break from the normal hustle and bustle of household chores, projects, and crafting so far in 2015.
Work has been crazy busy, January is typically a slow time but not this year.  The building industry is really booming again and tile is in much demand and I could not be happier about that.
I finally decided 2015 was the year to hire someone to clean my house.  I found someone  wonderful that is coming every two weeks and it is such a blessing.  It allows me to focus on other things that need doing around here.
I did tackle one project that had been on the list for quite some time, a new mirror for the bedroom.  I bought a cheap over the door mirror and Will built the wood surround.  I painted it white in chalk paint.  Will did most of the work on this one and I can’t take credit, thanks babe!

I’d been wanting a new solution for sometime, we had a nice mirror here but it had feet and got in the way of the closet door to the right of it and the screws never held tight and that caused the mirror swing.

Needless to say I am happy with the change.
I’ve also been working on little projects around the house like paint touch ups, cleaning out closets and refreshing house plants and terrariums.  Nothing really exciting but things that must be done.

I hope you all are having a great 2015 so far!
I’ll be back later this week with a neighborhood development update.
